Resources for Alcohol Awareness Week

The 11th-17th November is Alcohol Awareness Week, and this year the theme is ‘Alcohol and Me’.

“During this year’s Alcohol Awareness Week we will be encouraging people to test their knowledge around the drinking guidelines and health impacts associated with drinking. We will be launching a series of short quizzes to improve understanding and to motivate us all to think about the ways in which we drink, and to consider if it’s time to make a change. We’ll be encouraging people to get talking about alcohol, to start breaking down the shame and stigma that surrounds alcohol problems.” – Alcohol Change UK

Alcohol Change UK are providing posters, factsheets and content for social media posts. We think these would work great alongside our resources.

Lesson Plans

Did you know we have over 100 lesson plans to help support schools with their PSHE? This year we’ve put some of our favourite alcohol awareness lesson plans together into an e-book for KS3 and 4.

One 2 Many Programme

If you’re looking for an interactive and fun way to educate your young people on drugs and alcohol misuse, then look no further! One 2 Many is a programme which uses drama and discussion-based workshops to help young people learn the ins and outs of alcohol and ‘legal highs’.

Already sorted your timetable for Alcohol Awareness Week? No problem! Alcohol is an all-year-round issue after all. Lots of schools like to book One 2 Many for an end of term treat (and a good reminder for the young people before they go on their holidays!)

Training

RSE 2020 is fast approaching, and many schools are implementing the new guidelines now. We offer training on How to Work Effectively with Children and Young People on Relationships / RSE and Health Education – and the tools learned in this training are great for lessons on alcohol awareness.

If you want any more information or advice on how to make your Alcohol Awareness Week a great experience for your young people, give us a call on 0121 446 4880 or send an email to info@loudmouth.co.uk.

What people say

Take a look at how we’ve helped others

Brilliant acting and interaction with the children. The play itself covered puberty in an open, realistic and humorous way which forms a terrific basis for future discussion with the teacher and each other. So much depends on the enthusiasm of the actors and I feel that we were very lucky to have such a talented pair, not only to perform, but to lead the discussions afterwards. They were able to relate to the children without any embarrassment. SUPERB!!

Governor/Teacher

Compared to other companies we have had covering the same content, the actors were more flexible and accommodating to the children’s individual needs. Through their answers and questions, the children were demonstrating a higher level of understanding, empathy and personal safety.
