New Draft RSHE Guidance

New draft guidance for Relationships, Sex and Health Education has been published and is open for consultation. We are committed to age appropriate RSHE but share concerns with other key organisations on whether the new guidance will prevent students from getting the right information when they need it.

You have probably seen that the new RSHE draft guidance has been published and is out for consultation. We wanted to assure you that whatever the final guidance looks like or election result, Loudmouth will continue to have programmes that are safe and appropriate and work within the guidance. We already have materials for parents and ways for them to view the content of our work.

We are members of the Sex Education Forum and share their concerns about some aspects of the proposed changes. You can read their short blog on the guidance here. The PSHE Association have also published information on parental support of RSHE and to ensure that the guidance protects young people’s access to protective and preventative education. You can read this here.

We would also encourage any school or individual working in RSHE to take part in the consultation to ensure that children and young people get safe and appropriate RSHE, without taking away their access to the information and skills they need, when they need it.

You can take part in the consultation here.
