“I am greatly grateful for Loudmouth's excellent work by performing a play with such meaningful topics that students really need to learn and reflect about.” - Carmen Robles Blanco - Teacher - Prior Park
At the start of November, one of our Loudmouth teams flew out to Gibraltar to work at Prior Park School.
Kayleigh Talbot and Elliott Mortimer, two of our Senior Actor / Facilitators, were the lucky team to have an international adventure. Over the two days, they delivered four sessions. These were one session of our primary programme on staying safe, Helping Hands, two sessions of our secondary programmes Calling It Out on sexual harassment and assault, and one of our Safe and Sound sessions on abuse in teenage relationships.
“The students left the session and really wanted to talk about what they had learnt” - Isabella Ribbon- Teacher - Prior Park School
“Provided an open space where students could discuss themes with no fear” - Maxine Porto - Assistant Head of Welfare-Prior Park School
There was a lot of enthusiasm and some great responses from the students. Kayleigh and Elliott were really impressed by how well the students engaged and how articulate and thoughtful their questions were as a result of the sessions.
Staff in the school also commented on how the sessions helped their own teachers as show below.
“Staff have also been positively affected and teachers now feel more comfortable addressing sexual harassment issues with great openness in lessons.” - Elisa Debenham-Head of MFL- Prior Park
“Providing and engaging alternative forms of PSHE education” - Isabella Ribbon- Teacher- Prior Park School
A huge thank you to Julian Jarvis who organised and funded the tour and and we would love to come back to support future years, especially if we can get some more of that late winter sun!
“The Loudmouth staff were really encouraging and welcoming with our students who participated enthusiastically throughout their workshop” - Maxine Porto - Assistant Head of Welfare-Prior Park School
“An excellent example of how these themes could be approached” - Maxine Porto - Assistant Head of Welfare-Prior Park School
