It's Screen Time! Our Latest Programme Goes Live!

It's here!!! Our brand new theatre in education programme, Screen Time, is now in schools!

Screen Time is our first completely brand new programme for a few years. It has been supported and funded by Ofcom and so a huge thanks for their support. We are really excited about getting this new programme to as many schools as possible.

Screen Time looks at media literacy and communication with children and parents about being online. The programme has versions for students in Year 6 in primary and Year 7 in secondary, as well as sessions for parents plus awareness / training for teachers.

If you are looking for ways to helping your students to feel safer online whilst equipping them with the skills to make sense of what they find on the internet....then this could be a great addition to your RHE / RSHE programme.

We have delivered our first sessions and they were brilliantly received by parents, staff and pupils.

Screen Time looks that time when children and young people get their first smartphone and have increase access to the internet. Parents have to juggle when the right time is, how to monitor and protect their children whilst not wanting their children to miss out and maybe not always understanding the online world very well themselves!

The drama follows a young woman, Mia and her interactions with her Dad around her first smartphone. The play follows them from when Mia is 10 years old in primary school to her getting her smartphone and moving to secondary school.

The fun drama covers the ups and downs they face and uses drama and humour to bring to life some of the challenges and information that they find online.

The programme is available in different formats to suit school's needs, timetable and budget. All formats include the drama and Q&A with the characters with tips and ideas for how to be healthy, happy and safe online. Some formats include a small group discussion workshop that really allows students a chance to explore the topics and develop their skills for spotting dis and misinformation online.

The initial tour is funded for primary and secondary schools in East Birmingham but any school can now buy this programme for their students.
