Free Resources for December 2024

More free resources for you to use around key national and international dates in the RHE / RSHE Calendar.

It's the time of year for giving...so here are some more free resources for you.

SECONDARY

The 1st December is World AIDs Day. This has been celebrated since 1988 and aims to remove any stigma associated with HIV and AIDS. It encourages people to understand the virus and syndrome and to get tested early. Supporters across the globe will be wearing red ribbons to commemorate this day.

If you are planning any RSHE then you could help students to understand more about the virus and syndrome, including symptoms and treatment using our STI card game. This covers ten different STIs and is an interactive and easy to run activity for secondary age students.

PRIMARY

Now this one is a bit more left field but could still be tree-mendous fun.

23rd November - 1st December is National Tree Week (bear wth us). This activity can be used to create some wall art of a tree to show the range of people and places that chidlren can go to for support. Pupils use the template of a hand (or draw around their own) and then write an idea of where someone can go to get positive support. These can be cut out and arranged on a drawing of a tree trunk and branches as leaves.

You could add a Christmas touch and add the cut out hands on to a drawing of Christmas tree and decorate each hand in festive colours.
