93% of teachers reported an increase in safeguarding concerns raised in their school. Issues like
grooming, sexual exploitation and county lines continue to be challenges for schools with many
teachers reporting a need for more awareness and understanding of the exploitation risks.
This training can help staff to understand the latest issues and challenges around exploitation
and explore ways that they can use RSHE and their safeguarding provisions to help keep students safe
in education.
Child exploitation has huge impacts on students' education, wellbeing and opportunities.
Victims
of exploitation may miss school, may be drawn into activities that mean that they are frequently late,
tired or disengaged. If warning signs are missed then there may be longer term consequences including
school exclusion, social stigma and mental and physical harm.
Schools can play a big role in
spotting signs and helping students to get help.
Loudmouth have been delivering training on child exploitation for over 25 years. The training uses
elements of drama to bring stories to life. The drama is child focussed, providing space to hear about
the impacts from a young person’s perspective and exploring how schools and other professionals could spot
signs and offer support.
The training also explores practical ideas and resources that schools
can use in their RSHE. This preventative approach can help students to spot signs early and know where
to get help.
"Loudmouth’s training brought the morning’s training “to life”. The impact and significance of the performance is most obvious in the workshops which are skilfully facilitated, allowing participants to further develop their knowledge, ask questions and de-brief in a safe environment.”
We can provide evaluation forms for the training or work with you to use your own forms or assessment.
Participants praise the interaction and safe atmosphere and the engaging use of drama.
"The best safeguarding training I have ever received. Fantastic acting! Every professional working with children should receive this.”
We come to you. We can deliver in your school or at any suitable venue you choose to book. e.g. hotel conference rooms. The
space for the training should be big enough for up to 35 participants. This course is available in different lengths and
formats including full and half day sessions. We can also run shorter 1 hour twilight sessions or as part of a carousel of
sessions on a CPD day.
The room should be suitable to ensure that the set up can change throughout the day depending
on the activity so that we can move between one large circle of chairs and a theatre style towards the performance space.
Clients will be asked to provide Loudmouth with any special requirements or extra support that delegates may need. This will be agreed prior to the date of delivery and adjustments are made if necessary.
We can provide a standard version that covers different forms of child exploitation however we can focus more of the discussions on a particular aspect e.g. county lines, if you have a specific local or school challenge you would like support with.
Use the form below to get in touch and we can arrange a meeting to discuss your requirements.
