Helping Hands and Talk PANTS

Due to some re-development of the Talk PANTS campaign from September 2025, we will no longer be able to use Talk PANTS in our Helping Hands programme.

Loudmouth’s succesful Helping Hands programme has been running since 2008. In 2016 we incorporated the NSPCC’s Talk PANTS messages into the programme with an agreement from the NSPCC. The programme is one of our most popular programmes and each year works with around 30,000 children. In 24/25 the programme had 56 disclosures where children came forward to seek direct help as a result of taking part in the Helping Hand sessions.

The NSPCC have recently re-developed their school offer and have made the decision that their Talk PANTS messages will now only be delivered to schools via their own national service and resources.

As a result, from September 2025, our Helping Hands programme can no longer reference Talk PANTS in the drama and workshop. The programme will continue to teach the same key safety messages but with a complementary model. The new approach will draw on our own experience, research and sources such as the council of Europe’s underwear rule which originally inspired the NSPCC model and be worked into our usual gentle, safe and fun approach schools and funders expect.

We are very proud of the work we did with Talk PANTs campaign and wish the NSPCC the best with their new plans and look forward to delivering the next chapter of Helping Hands.
