White Ribbon Day is on the 25th November and the motto is ‘Together we can prevent violence against women and girls’. White Ribbon Day focuses on how ‘gender equality is achievable if men and boys understand and assume their responsibility as allies’.
Loudmouth provides programmes that can support different organisations in their education of boys and young men and to encourage discussions about the positive role that they can play in gender equality.
CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLE PROGRAMMES
Our Helping Hands programme explores consent and uses gentle drama and discussion to help boys to explore their feelings and the positive role that they can play as friends rather than bystanders.
Our Calling It Out programme explores harmful sexual behaviours including harassment in and out of school. It looks at different scenarios and strategies that everyone can use if they witness someone being harassed or hassled.
Working for Marcus is our programme on child exploitation and now includes more exploration on the role of the bystander. The drama and workshop highlights how speaking up and sharing concerns can help to prevent abuse and exploitation.
STAFF TRAINING
We also offer training programmes for any professionals who work with young people around Violence Against Women and Gorls (VAWG). These use our existing drama to build awareness of the issues. The training include discussion and activities including an opportunity to interact with the characters from the drama to find out more about the issues and explore communication skills. Participants also share approaches for engaging with young people around the issues. We currently offer training for professionals including programmes on child exploitation, domestic abuse and harmful sexual behaviours.
