You are here: Home » training » How to work effectively with children and young people on domestic abuse issues
Domestic abuse accounts for 16% of all violent crime and affects 1 in 4 women in the UK. Domestic abuse has a huge impact on many families and children. This training brings the issues to life using scenes of drama and discussion to openly discuss the subject of domestic abuse and bring it out from behind closed doors.

This course provides a powerful insight into a current and important issue. The training raises participants awareness of domestic abuse and helps staff to develop their practice and service to meet the needs of the children, women and families they work with who are affected by this issue.

This course also works as a perfect companion piece to our theatre in education programme ‘Helping Hands’ which looks at bullying and domestic abuse with children. The training can prepare, inform and reassure staff and parents and show the sensitive way we introduce the topic to children.
