January saw the re-launch of Helping Hands. The revamped primary school programme has been updated in response to school enquiries to address child sexual exploitation and abuse, online safety and domestic abuse.

The new programme started touring 11th January and has already had great response from staff and pupils.

“I just wanted to see a huge thank you for Loudmouth! It was amazing, never seen anything like it – the children were engaged and LOVED IT! It was so cleverly done, very fast paced and on the children’s level. I sat with the boys in my class for the session afterwards and they were so incredibly mature – they used all of the correct vocabulary – not giggling, no embarrassment. ” – Year 6 Teacher

Helping Hands is a sensitive theatre in education programme helps protect children through an understanding of positive relationships. The performances and workshop uses drama, discussion and appropriate humour to support school’s safeguarding education and help children aged 8 – 11 years old to stay safe in their interactions with others. The programme uses the popular NSPCC PANTS rule and will be performed at several events and conferences this year including the National Working Group (NWG) annual conference in March.

Take a look at how we’ve helped others

Brilliant acting and interaction with the children. The play itself covered puberty in an open, realistic and humorous way which forms a terrific basis for future discussion with the teacher and each other. So much depends on the enthusiasm of the actors and I feel that we were very lucky to have such a talented pair, not only to perform, but to lead the discussions afterwards. They were able to relate to the children without any embarrassment. SUPERB!!

Compared to other companies we have had covering the same content, the actors were more flexible and accommodating to the children’s individual needs. Through their answers and questions, the children were demonstrating a higher level of understanding, empathy and personal safety.
